Maine Seasons Events Chebeague Island Wedding-Katherine & Clark

Next time you see me, ask me about the transportation planning for an island wedding. In this case, it literally involved ferries, barges, school buses, activity coaches, vans, cars, dinghies , water taxis and airplanes. It’s a fun thing to talk about, really. No, really, it’s a fun story, just ask me! If you have about about 30 minutes for me to explain it all to you. If you are planning an island wedding, be in touch, we have decades of experience and know how to create this special animal of the wedding world, known as the Maine Island Wedding!

Katherine came to me while studying for the bar exam and having started with her wedding plans too. She is one of the smartest, quickest, wittiest, decisive and detailed people I know. She will make a great lawyer!

Broadturn Farm created and transported to the island, gorgeous personal flowers and bouquets, the ceremony arbor and floral adornments as well as large arrangements in urns for the Inn’s front porch. Dahlias, foxglove, lisianthus, delphinium, ruscus and sword fern were woven into magical, wild and soft bouquets.

The personal and special details in this event, really added character and fun for the guests and families. Katherine’s dad brewed beer with a special recipe just for the wedding to serve as both seating assignments and favors. Both Katherine and her dad have a sharp sense of humor and they love jokes-the beer was called “Tied Knot Brew” , perfect play on the island location and the word tide, and the nautical and marital reference to knot tying. Guests were getting quite a chuckle at the seating assignment display! Katherine’s talented sister created bottle label designs for the beer as well as beautiful table number, menu and bar signage as well. Katherine’s mom designed the dinner tablescapes with simple greenery, candles, ivory roses and hypericum berries.

This fun group filled the dance floor all night long, to the music of Wavelength Band. A photo booth adjacent to the main tent was a fun destination for guests throughout the evening. After the reception, the couple hosted an after party in the Inn’s pub, and the festivities carried on into the night, on island time.

Zac Boyce’s fun film of this day can be seen here, always love it when clients listen to me and hire a film maker for their wedding day!

Congratulations Katherine & Clark!
